History Littlehampton has been twinned with Chennevieres Sur Marne, a suburb of Paris, since 1982 and with Durmersheim in Southern Germany since 1988. Chennevieres and Durmersheim are also twinned with each other therefore the three towns form a 'Menage a Trois'. The Town Twinning Association is a voluntary self-financing organisation set up to provide links with it’s twinned towns. Each year we organize exchange visits with both towns. Chennevieres and Durmersheim are hosts on alternate years when they do not visit Littlehampton. This is a great opportunity to get to know a French or German family and find out just how friendly and hospitable they really are. The Association also helps to facilitate links between other leisure clubs and societies. It also holds many social events throughout the year in order to raise funds and to have fun. The range of activities varies throughout the year and tries to respond to the wishes of the membership. Don't be put off if you don't speak French or German. Many of our hosts speak English, and if they don't, the best way to improve or learn is by spending a weekend with a French or German family (with the added safety net of never being too far away from a fellow English speaker). If you want to find out more about the Twinning Association or would like to join us then please contact the Secretary
